In Austria the food is hearty and whilst I do love the Austrian cuisine, I do find it sometimes a little heavy, that is why when we choose to truly indulge in Viennese cuisine we often choose one of the most traditional and authentic Austrian restaurants and that is Plachutta

We are lucky enough to have a Plachutta restaurant in our local neighbourhood but there are numerous locations throughout Vienna and my favourite one is in first district.

We go to the one in Heitzing as a New Years Eve tradition every year and the kids absolutely love it too!

Here are some highlights from our recent visit.

For those wondering what I wore too!

Had to take a car selfie on the way there :)

And of course Henley then tried to photobomb me :)

We love ordering the soups and meats at Plachutta but they also do amazing desserts too!

Also there is something about the bread at Plachutta too - it's SO good and fresh, straight from the hot oven

The drinks do not disappoint either, don't worry it was non-alcoholic

Also I know it sounds strange but their butter is also SO good! Or maybe it's my pregnancy hormones but I loved the butter too.

Now for the kids favourite part the dessert!

Safe to say Henley enjoyed it :)

Chocolate Souffle the way only the Austrians can do !

Then that night my husband had some well deserved kid free time and went to a NYE's house party

The theme was a "Touch of Sparkle" and I think I managed that.

And I managed to get a New Years kiss from my husband too :)

Happy New Year everyone - we hope your year so far is everything and more you hoped for !!!!
